FlexWedge for Automated Data Entry to Excel

If you’re tired of typing data into Excel, then I have a potential solution. MidWestFlex has created a small device called “FlexWedge” which captures data from gauges and enters it into Excel automatically. The device works with thousands of different gauges and has a simple installation. Instead of a complex driver, the small system interfaces with your computer using the keyboard driver. When you plug the device into your USB port, your computer thinks it is a keyboard. Don’t worry, your regular keyboard will continue to work.

If you’re using Quantum XLSPC XL, or DOE Pro, the FlexWedge could save you a lot of time. Here’s how it works.

  1. Step 1: Plug your device into the FlexWedge.
  2. Step 2: Plug the FlexWedge into your USB port.
  3. Step 3: Select the cell in Excel where you want the data to go.
  4. Step 4: Press the small button on the side of the FlexWedge. The FlexWedge will “read” the gauge and enter the data into Excel. There is an optional foot switch if you need both hands to use the gauge.

Below is a picture of the FlexWedge. The actual device is the box below the gauge.
